About

Hey, I’m Megan! (No h.)

You can call me Meg.

This is my website – there’s a lot going on so let me fill you in on who I am and what this site is about.

I’m from Missouri and I ventured to Mississippi to get my degree in Communication, Broadcast Journalism (GTHOM). After College I moved back home and since then I’ve been chasing my journalism dreams.

I have experience producing, reporting, interviewing, editing, and being on-air. I worked as a sports writer for The Reflector, an on-air personality for 91.1 FM WMSV Radio and an anchor on the Thursday edition of Take 30 News. Post-college work experience includes:

On-air and programming for 95.3KDKD-fm, on-air and production Saturday nights on Mix 93.3 and most recently I have been hosting The Afternoon Drive for Q104.3.

I have logged countless hours driving radio vans and running sound boards. The portfolio portion of this website is here to show you what I’ve been working on and my progression.

I’m a millennial so naturally my social media game is strong, take a look at my Instagram @megcarolina and the work I have done as the marketing and social media manager as well as a media liaison for our Lee’s Summit National Guard recruiting office, here.

I love sports, telling jokes, working on cars and snacks. I also value being involved in my community. You can find examples of my leadership project, here.

My podcast SnackBreak with Meg covers many of these topics and more- it can be heard through this website and found on Spotify.

I just really love snacks so I blog, and run a SB Facebook page as well to keep growing my skills.
